Dr. Randhawa is passionate about keeping up-to-date with the latest technology in the dental field and implementing clinically proven techniques and instruments in the practice. With our digital impression system, intraoral camera, and digital X-ray system, we’re able to offer patients enhanced education about oral health problems they’re facing as well as a more comfortable and streamlined visit. We invite you to learn more about these advanced dental technologies below and what they can provide you at your next visit to Downtown Dental in Allen.

Digital Dental Impressions

In the past, dentists would press a lump of gag-inducing putty within the mouth to capture impressions for restorations and oral appliances. At Downtown Dental, you no longer have to worry about that being the case! We use an incredibly advanced and quick method of capturing a 3D blueprint of your mouth with our digital impression system. After about 30 seconds, our team will have a digital scan that we can then send off to our dental laboratory to craft your crown, bridge, or denture from.

Intraoral Camera

At your routine checkup or emergency examination, we may use our intraoral camera to get a more detailed view of hard-to-see areas of your smile. This device is small and pen-like with a camera on the tip of it that can capture both still images and live video footage. We can then display the image on a large chairside monitor while we’re explaining our diagnosis and treatment plan, allowing you to better understand our recommendations.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Unlike their late film counterparts, digital X-rays can be taken in a moment, digitally stored and processed, and are much clearer, allowing for more accurate diagnoses. One of the biggest benefits appreciated by patients is the drastically lower radiation produced, making them safe for both children and adults. We can also view your X-rays on a chairside monitor, allowing us to show you what we’re explaining, along with how any recommended treatment plans will address the problem at-hand.
